Peter L. Jones

Brigadier General (R) US Army

Brigadier General Peter L. Jones is a recognized leader, team builder and innovative thinker, operationally adept at solving complex national defense problems. After 32 years of service, he retired in 2017 as the 56th Commandant and Chief of Infantry at the United States Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, GA.

Peter is a decorated combat leader with over 48 months of combat deployments with broad overseas experience and cultural understanding in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, including Afghanistan.

Today, he is President and CEO of the non-profit National Infantry Museum Foundation and President of PLJ and Associates, providing consulting support and subject matter expertise across the Department of Defense, industry, and research institutions. Peter is on the B.E. Meyers & Co. Advisory Board and the Board of Directors for Partners in Performance America.

A West Point graduate, he also holds advanced degrees from Georgetown University, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and National Defense University. He is the recipient of Bronze Star Medal for Valor, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Ranger Tab.
